Request Distribution

Within each release, click the Request Distribution button to initiate the process of delivering the release to DSPs. The Sparta team will review your request and distribute the release within two (2) business days. After the Sparta team has reviewed and distributed the release, it will go live on the DSPs within five (5) business days.

Request Update

To request a Metadata or Full Update, take the following steps.  Updates should be requested no less than three (3) business days prior to release, or five (5) business days prior to release for changes to release date or takedown requests.

  1. Make the desired changes within Sparta Dashboard's Release Editor, and click Save
  2. Select "Request Update" and select either "Metadata Update" or "Full Update"

Metadata Update vs. Full Update Overview

Metadata Update: Deliver release update without media assets (audio, video, image) in order change the release's metadata on the DSPs. The following can be updated using metadata update:

  • Release Info (Release Title, Title Version, Display Artist, Participants)
  • Extended Info (Format, Country, Release & Pre-Order Date, Year, Advisory, Metadata & Audio Language)
  • Rights Info (P&C text and year)
  • Tracks Info (Track Title, Display Artist, Participants)
  • Categories/Tags
  • Territory Restrictions

*** NOT ALL METADATA CAN BE UPDATED ***

Please note that the following data cannot be changed once a release has been delivered. Therefore, extra care should be taken to have the correct metadata from the beginning:

  • ISRC
  • UPC
  • Track order
  • Total number of tracks

Full Update: Send update to replace media assets (audio and/or image files) AND metadata on DSP. The following can be updated with a full update:

  • Audio files
  • Cover art
  • Lyrics
  • TikTok clip start time (duration is 60 seconds)
  • All editable metadata

*Please note: Updates will only reflect on DSPs if they are requested through the dashboard or via email*

Request Takedown

A Takedown will delete your release from all DSPs. To request a Takedown, simply click on "Request Takedown" from the Release Editor. After the takedown is requested, the release will be removed from the DSPs within (5) five business days.
